QOD Thursday-week 4

The last regular question of the week. Tomorrow is the bonus question. Today's question is in the food category. Here it is:

What edible oil is also known as "LEAR" oil (for Low Erucic Acid Rapeseed)?


Yesterday's answer was SABENA (Société Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aérienne or Belgian company for exploiting aerial navigation).
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

HA! I just had this same question on Sploofus the other day! For 4 points (or whatever I have left), it's CANOLA OIL.

4 points. The more marketable name for rapeseed oil is canola oil.

You're probably looking for Canola oil, although I believe it is also known as Grapeseed oil. They just added a letter "g" to "rapeseed" so it wouldn't sound so much like "rape".

As far as I can tell, Grapeseed oil is a completely different oil made from the seeds of grapes.

I think that is canola oil. I've only read about it. I don't think I've ever had any.
