Princess Annie -- first peek

#1 Post by silvercamaro » Mon Oct 27, 2008 5:45 pm

I present Princess Annie in her new birthday suit, courtesy of the 1111 House of Couture.

The dress needs a few adjustments before you will be able to see the final design, but this photo was taken at the first fitting. What will become straps for the bodice has, for photographic purposes only, been wrapped around her neck like a ruff. In addition, the skirt has been draped temporarily over her backside, rather than being properly attached. (She's fascinated by the skirt, and pulled it up higher than I had placed it.)

Image

She's very much taken with her royal role. Note the imperial gaze, not dissimilar to that of Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Tsar Nicholas II, or even the non-royal-but-imperious Anna Pavlova, today's Sploofus "Who Am I?"

Image

Additional photos of the finished gown will be forthcoming at a later date.

I am so glad you got it and sorry if it requires a lot of fitting.

First attempt at this and I hope it wasn't too horribly bad.

But the tiara is perfect!

She looks properly, well, proper and princessy and lovely! Very regal, indeed. Great designing, too, Christie.t.

Donna, thank you so very, incredibly, magnificently much! I am astonished at the quality of the fabrics, thought, workmanship, and effort you put into this. The straps will be easy to do, and I need to shorten the bodice section a bit so she can walk more easily. (I think if I do some ruching up the sides, that will hold it in place without having to touch the velcro and finishing lace on the back. At that point I can pop the skirt on her easily, and she'll be sashaying around all over the place. It is gorgeous. In fact, it's a better dress in every way than most of the garments that showed up on Project Runway.

The 1111 House of Couture is the best!

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

I thought a birthday suit required less material.

Poor Evil. You are a jealous little fuzzball.

You and your friends can throw all the apples you can steal from little children, but if any of them hit me and get my new dress dirty, you may find out that princesses can climb trees.

Thank you to everybody else, who said nice things.

I'll add my gracious thank yous for compliments, but I know SC has a little tailoring to do.

It was a good choice of colors though! Annie looks marvelous in that pink!

She is fortunate to be a girl who looks good in pink or orange.

I noticed that she didn't say thanks to you in her post, but I noticed earlier today that she was composing a thank you letter. Princesses like to be formal about this sort of thing, or so I've heard.

Annie looks just wonderful!

But, I knew she would, what with her dressmaker and natural good looks.

I still haven't fixed Zap's costume.

I have to take in the headpiece and add extender straps for his chest.
