I'm absolutely addicted to greek yogurt
And I really have nothing else to say. I just haven't seen a lot of non-political posting going on today, so I haven't had a chance to say much.
But I did just try peach, and it was quite yummy!

Greek yogurt is the non-sweetened variety? Any brand names we should look for?

I'm partial to OuzoPlait.

We love it too.
Do you have the Fage kind?
Cherry is my favorite. Honey is next fave.

Re: I'm absolutely addicted to greek yogurt
Today I am eating Chobani, which is a new brand for me that I found at Stop and Shop for only $1.25!! Peach and Blueberry are good so far, the only other flavors they have are vanilla and straweberry (at least in my store).
The brand I usually eat is Oikos, which I've only found at Whole Foods. It is yummy and blueberry and honey are my favorite flavors of theirs.
I actually haven't tried Fage, I might have to, to get a good sampling of all the brands. But I'm not sure if theirs are bigger or what, they seem to have way more calories than Chobani (120 - 140 per 6 oz) and Oikos (I think 120 for 5.3 oz, I don't have it in front of me). I want to say Fage was well over 200?

I've thought about trying it, but the prices seem to be pretty exzorbatant.sunflower wrote:Today I am eating Chobani, which is a new brand for me that I found at Stop and Shop for only $1.25!! Re: I'm absolutely addicted to greek yogurt
I tried it because I had a $1 off Oikos coupon, so I bought it at Whole Foods. But the normal price is $2.19 which is a lot for one yogurt.WheresFanny wrote:I've thought about trying it, but the prices seem to be pretty exzorbatant.
(If you have Whole Foods in your area, grab the Mambo Sprouts newsletter in the front of the store, there are tons of coupons in it!!)
I am excited by the Chobani, I consider $1.25 to be somewhat reasonable especially since it fills me up way more than a yoplait light does. And that wasn't a sale price, so there might be bargain opportunities. I'll have to see if BJ's stocks it at all.

Now I feel guilty for making you go to the all the effort of replying with pertinent information when I've actually never given a thought to Greek yogurt. I was just going for a cheap joke. I'm actually an excellent speller (slow and in the driveway)!sunflower wrote:I tried it because I had a $1 off Oikos coupon, so I bought it at Whole Foods. By the way, I was so excited to share it with you that I didn't even notice the spelling!!!

I used to go to the Wild Oats store down the street all the time, but I haven't been there since they merged with Whole Foods. I'm going to specifically go there in the next couple days, get a coupon and buy a Greek yogurt in your honour!sunflower wrote:Lol Fanny, that's okay. Re: I'm absolutely addicted to greek yogurt
Fage is great. Tastes like thick sour cream, but not nearly as sour even as sour cream. Absolutely none of the quality of whatever makes people not like yogurt, & all of the thick creaminess of sour cream.
I'm going to have some with my bananas as soon as I get home. In fact, I bought the bananas for it.
I 1st got into mega-yogurt-eating to up my calcium intake. I couldn't really eat enough thick creamy Greek Fage yogurt to do a whole day's calcium quotient for old ladies like me, but hey I can do at least part of it the good-tasting way.

My favorite yogurt is Bloomingdale's plain frozen yogurt, it's so delicious! I have never been able to find plain frozen yogurt anywhere else, whenever I inquire, they always think I mean vanilla, not plain. It may not sound very delicious, because it's plain, but it really is.

I want Greek yogurt and I want it NOW!
Wonder if the natural food store here has it.
They have a pretty good selection of other hard to find things,
but their prices are way high. I'm going tomorrow to check it out.
