#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Tue Oct 28, 2008 2:10 pm

Barack Obama supporters in Virginia reaching out to McCain/Palin supporters, trying to get past politics as usual:

Let's see how much coverage this gets in the mainstream press.

The subject line is a subtle mischaracterization of news article--what a surprise, SSS!

BTW, as a technical note about the new Bored software we're running, there's no longer a need to use tinyurl in place of long URLs any more. The Bored will automatically abbreviate long ones, like this one for the article you linked to:

http://www.galaxgazette.com/cgi-bin/sto ... .Lead+News

Using this method saves you time and allows the rest of us to see exactly what site you're trying to send us to.

Of course, if the site appears to be someplace we wouldn't want to visit, we might avoid clicking on it. You might consider that a disadvantage, during the course of your campaign against the Antihillary.

Oh, if it needs mentioning, the alleged crimes for which these two individuals have been arrested are unexcusable. And your point is???

We got signs vandalized around here, and I didn't want it reported in the mainstream press. These aren't campaign supporters, they're jerks. I'd be publicly disowning them right now.

The press does no one any favors by making a big deal out of this thuggery. The thugs wanted Page 1 and they got it.

Thanks for letting me know how this works. I've never tried to mislead people about the sources I'm citing, and if I cite a right-wing, or anti-Obama blog, I'll usually say so when I bring up the subject. The source for this is the local newspaper.

Even more entertaining than a news item about a he said/he said confrontation in a political headquarters are the frothing comments below the main article. I kept looking for an SSS-appropriate pseudonym. 8)

I find it interesting that S³ claims they're Obama supporters other than anti-McCain or just plain Democrats.
