Part of good service is providing a pleasant dining experience. Being forced to look at an Obama button while I'm trying to digest my meal is not conducive to a pleasant dining experience. It's times like these that I'm glad I still have a few pennies in my change to reward this level of service.

I'll bet good money that when the SSSes go out, that they do not stiff the wait staff no matter what they're wearing.

My wife waitressed while I was in the Navy. She lived on peanut butter sandwiches and my allotment. We always overtip. Waitresses at the local choke and pukes try to steer us to their stations. I simply don't understand greed.

No, just the local owned restaurants/diners.

Ah. After work we would sometimes head over to the Steak and Egg, only we called it so many unflattering nicknames. I'm sure Choke and Puke made the list.

With all these kids, IF we go out, it's for pizza. We got some Outback gift cards for Christmas last year and have yet to use them. I think I'll use them to take my dad out, or just give them to him outright like I did those Starbucks cards that sat on the dresser for at least two years (they're still valid--I checked...)

We dine out on vacation and birthdays, but we're such a pack, especially when the s-i-l and crew join us. It's hard to get a table for 10 on short notice....

it's "funny" when public sector types rec this type of sentiment, as their bloated ranks and insatiable appetite for private money exacerbate our debt issues.
Maybe they will volunteer to give back during these trying times.

These are also good at Bonefish Grill (like you go to a chain seafood place when you live in a beach town!), Carrabba's (like we'd go for chain Italian when our pizza place is owned by a guy named Vinny with a thick Italian accent), and some other places that I've never heard of plus a Cheeseburger in Paradise which I've heard of but don't know if we have one around here.

I love me some wings, but I like to eat them in the privacy of my own home so I can slop away with impunity. Same with ribs and crablegs...
