What's The Record....

#1 Post by littleblueneon » Mon Oct 27, 2008 9:20 am

For registration stickers piled up on a license plate?

LB just put #8 on my plate, and we have only one box for them, so they are all piled one on top of the other....

It's not as tacky as the 7 city stickers on my windshield, but I'm used to being embarrassed hauling Beast around......

Welcome lbn, We couldn't get much dirt outta the beastsisters, but I bet you have the real inside info. Does lb really work for the CIA? NSA? FBI? Weather Underground?

The Camaro is a 1998 model, so I must have you beaten by at least one.

BTW, on my trip to Tulsa, I fnally went over the 50,000-mile mark on the odometer.

We don't have those stickers anymore...I guess too many people were stealing the stickers, or just cutting that section of the plate off in order to get the stickers. So now CT puts registration stickers on the inside of the windshield.

What are your state inmates doing, SC and LB?

It seems like we replace our plates every 4 years or so here in Nebraska. So, never more than 4 stickers on our plates.

They may have spaced out the plate replacement to every 6 years now, like our driver licenses.

I had seven stickers on my plates until I recently ripped them off to place my 2009 registration sticker.

I have another set to slap onto the Tackymobile's plates! But I started renewing for two years, so my pyramid probably hasn't grown as tall as yours has. Maybe 7 stickers now in 10 years?

They offered new plates, but the old ones are still bright and unfaded, so I'll keep them.

The Tacky collection is up to 9 now what with the new Jets bumper sticker. Not counting the accoutrements on the front, of course...

Some of them may be making the hundreds of personalized and "special commemorative" license plates that Oklahoma provides to its drivers for an additional fee. Others may be doing laundry or -- my favorite program for inmates, although it's relatively small -- training rescued dogs to become service dogs and assistance dogs. It has been reported that the program provides almost as much positive change for the inmate participants as it does for the dogs.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

What a coincidence, LBN is also a '98. I bought it used 8 years ago, and it would've been sticker #9 had Illinois not done a statewide license plate switch the year after I bought it.....

And I thought I didn't put many miles on my car! I rolled it over to 80K on my trip to KC last month, but only 52,000 of that is mine....

We have our inmate make little bity rocks out of great big rocks, like they're supposed to! :P

Illinois only switches out license plates when they change the design, which they've done just twice in my lifetime....

We had this one up until the early 80's:

Then this one (I still have mine, which only got to stay on my car for a year):

And now we have this beautiful shot of Kentucky's favorite son on our vehicles.....

Mary Jean will be having sticker #9 slapped on her come this March. My Cougar had 17 of them before she ended up being exiled to Nebraska.
