Shout out to Mad Men fans!!

#1 Post by mellytu74 » Mon Oct 20, 2008 7:59 am

1) Remember, Jon Hamm is the guest host on SNL next week.

I LOVE Mad Men but suspect that SNL could give it a fine skewering.

2) Was last night's episode a kick in the pants or what!?

So many difference levels. I need to watch again to get everything.

Will Peggy save Don?

Will Joan ever find true Love?

Could Pete be a bigger Jerk?
Suitguy is not bitter.

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I just love this show! I can't believe though. that next Sunday's episode is the season finale.

I love the way they have fleshed out Don this year - this guy has more levels than a skyscraper.

I also agree that Pete is a total jerk and if he EVER finds out about Peggy's baby well............

I am a fan and I am behind.

I think I have 3 in the hopper.

Maybe I can get to them soon.

What an episode! I definitely need to watch it again, as I'm still unsure if the scene with Don carrying the groceries was a flasback or if it was 1964? I can't believe next Sunday is the finale already. For any fans in the NYC area, Elisabeth Moss(Peggy) is appearing on Broadway in Speed The Plow for the next couple of weeks.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who was confused about that scene. I think it was a flashback because in 1964 guys totally revamping their cars wasn't such a new thing as it would have been in the mid fifties.

Ellen - who's first car was a 1959 Vauxhall that eventually had no floorboard under the driver's seat but as long as they ran - we drove 'em.

Christina Hendricks (Joan) was back on Life 9/24/08] in her guest star role as Charlie Crew's Father's girlfriend.

[quote="mellytu74"]1) Remember, Jon Hamm is the guest host on SNL next week.

I thought he was very funny! It was the first SNL episode I've watched in it's entirety this season. What a treat to see Elisabeth Moss and John Slattery too!
Can't wait for tonight's episode, I don't think I've anticipated a season finale this much since SFU!

Yeah, well I occasionally post in the political threads too, but you know it's gonna be something totally unrelated......

And then my partner in crime will usually join in, and before long, nobody knows what the thread's supposed to be about anymore....... :P

She has no problem finding aiders and abetters, though she does still have to run off the first 9 or 10 posts in a thread before anyone pays attention.

She does favors for people in return. The noive of her being nice like that......

Thank-You!! Even though I really don't know exactly what a gus is, I am nonetheless quite pleased with myself for getting one!
