What's interesting is that Adelman, whose own judgment may be said to be somewhat suspect, criticizes McCain's judgment for choosing Sarah Palin. The last part of the article is somewhat curious:
Reading through this, he suspects, as do I, that Obama's posturing is nothing more than a play to the left wing and that he will be more "sensible" once in office. He feels that's a good thing.... I have yet to see any signs of Obama's judgment, grasp of issues or anything other than an ability to mount a slick marketing campaign and deliver a good prepared speech off a teleprompter or when being fed softball questions to allow him to expound his talking points.I sure hope Obama is more open, centrist, sensible—dare I say, Clintonesque—than his liberal record indicates, than his cooperation with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid portends. If not, I will be even more startled by my vote than I am now.
