QOD Friday-week 3

#1 Post by ulysses5019 » Fri Oct 24, 2008 8:01 am

Today's question is a bonus question. No need to wager anything. There will be four answers. If there are more than four answers, the wrong ones will be taken first. Each answer is worth five points. The category is the US states.

Name origins of states:

This state's name is derived from the Caddooan language of the Hasinai and means "allies" or "friends".

This state is named for the Queen Consort of Charles I of England.

This state's name is commonly believed to have derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons as related in the 1510 work The Exploits of Esplandian.

This state was "discovered" by a Spanish explorer on April 2, 1513 and is named for the Spanish term for the Easter season.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

It looks to me like the states don't need to necessarily go with each question, we just need to name four of them. So I can shoot for the moon with four states and hope to hit one of the random questions.....

Maryland, California, Florida, Kentucky
