Just curious, Tim. Did He say anything in his rally speech about his promise to "spread the wealth around"?

We only wish we had VaDame's wonderful photography skills to record them for posterity....
Oh well.....I was about 150 yards away....across a main street....over the heads of the folks in front of me.....at night......and I was using a cell-phone camera! Under the circumstances, I think I did pretty good

John McCain had a rally at BobbyMoU yesterday -- with an equally enthusiatic crowd (at least according to the Trib, which tends to lean a bit to the right!) Sarah Palin is coming to BFalls tomorrow (same place I attended my 2nd Jimmy Carter rally back in the late 70s.) I'm sure she'll draw a crowd, too (although I'm not goin' anywhere near the place.) Hillary is coming Friday to campaign for Obama -- I would like to go, but cannot.

As Tim said -- rallies are fun -- go if you want; stay away if it ain't your cuppa tea :)

I went to hear Barry Goldwater speak in Galesburg. It was an honest to god whistle stop. The train slowed to a stop and the crowd enveloped the end car. BG came out and gave his stump speech. The air was electric. I was three years from being old enough to vote, but it didn't matter--I felt that I was somehow a part of history.

I attended rallies for Frank Church and Mo Udall during the 1976 primary season.

Nice guys, but no tingles up my leg.
I am about 25% sure of this.

Gary, I have no desire to get into political ping pong with you. I have no wish for a debate and I do not recall attacking McCain in my initial post.

You put what I was trying to say very eloquently. That was exactly how I felt yesterday.

Tim, I was only asking a simple question. There was no attack intended. Since this is a foundation of his policies, I was curious as to whether he mentioned this in his speech.

Other than Guantanamo Bay or Al Gharib prison, I can't think of very many places I would less like to be than 100 feet away from Barack Obama.

In 1964, Lyndon Johnson made a campaign stop in Orlando and gave a speech at what was then the parking lot of the only major shopping center in Atlanta. They cancelled school so that all of the students could be bussed to hear him talk for about 10-15 minutes. It was an exciting moment.

I was all set to yell at you because I misread your post. I initially thought you were saying those two places were where you wanted Obama to be. But that's not what you said, so nevermind.
