Warning!! Another Health Hazard!!

This normal, supposedly safe activity can get you fried!

If you do it in a vacuum chamber.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

We'll all have to be more careful when we're

This reminds me of my bar hopping days, when I would learn some little factoid, mention it to a lady whose attention I had captured, and she would say "

Which reminds me of when I taught high school physics before I was married and at social occassions I found that whenever I mentioned that I taught HS Physics, they would inevetably say 'I HATED Physics!' and turn away. After a number of times I finally caught on and would just say 'I teach' then the exchange would always be:
'What?'
'High school' I would respond.
'Which subject?'
'Science' would be my answer.
'Really which one?'
'Physics'
'I HATED Physics' boom

It never occurred to me to outright lie.

The proper response to that was "You obviously never had me as your teacher."

I used to get that sort of reaction when I told people I was a chemist, but it was usually cushioned with a "Wow, you must be smart!" comment or expression.

Well, they had it half right.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.
