You also left out "Size of ears" and "Crankyness."
I am about 25% sure of this.

It is a bit unrealistic for us to pick only one reason.Hello, Mini! wrote:You forgot "All of the Above".
The choices make me think of those SyndieBAM audition questions. Now I just want to crawl back into the Moratorium Lounge and sulk.

After 8 years of Bush, my #1 priority was competence.

I'm not sure I understand "NOTA, voting 3rd party".
I'm likely to vote 3rd party but the reasons are, in fact, listed above. Sort of. It's a hard thing to narrow down to one choice.

No matter where you go, there you are.

if that's the case, boy, did you EVER make a wrong choice!NellyLunatic1980 wrote:After 8 years of Bush, my #1 priority was competence.
Plenty of third-party candidates that show more competence than the two main candidates combined.

I'm with Marley.
There are plenty of reasons why I have chosen how I did...some of which aren't even listed as choices.
I went with NOTA- third party just for simplicity's sake...but I hope to get to a time where third-party options are taken more seriously than they are in this poll.

Re: How will (or did) you ultimately decide? (Poll)
That would either be "choice of friends/associates/advisers" or "specific foreign policy stance".frogman042 wrote:Where is "I'm voting for the musilim terrorist because I hate America" selection???

What's really missing are the choices "racism" and "refuse to vote for a fake American".

Most choices have a dark rose bar with a star or two, the popular choices get a pink bar with more fancy stars on it. I bet if a choice gets really popular, it will be sparkly!
We, the HK Brigade, do hereby salute you, Marley, for your steadfast devotion to ontopicosity. Well done, sir!

You've never heard of Mr. Nota? He's the guy who runs for every office in Nevada every year but never wins any of them.andrewjackson wrote:I'm not sure I understand "NOTA, voting 3rd party".
Mr. None of the Above.

Re: How will (or did) you ultimately decide? (Poll)
I know what NOTA means. My confusion was why this was attached to "voting 3rd party". Why wouldn't a person chose a candidate based on the criteria listed even if choosing to vote 3rd party?NellyLunatic1980 wrote:You've never heard of Mr. Nota? You must really like your candidate.Hello, Mini! wrote:You forgot "All of the Above".
Understood, but I was thinking that one would stand out, especially if one's decision is close, or at odds with one's normal party or philosophical affiliation.MarleysGh0st wrote:It is a bit unrealistic for us to pick only one reason.
Though I was not clear in saying so, I hoped to poll how people would choose between the two major alternatives. Third party suggests to me that both of the major alternatives had at least one "deal breaker". That's different, in my mind, from "tie breaker".andrewjackson wrote:I'm not sure I understand "NOTA, voting 3rd party". I'm likely to vote 3rd party but the reasons are, in fact, listed above.
Well, I forgot "Won over by Bored flame wars". Perhaps others? *peacock2121 wrote:My reasons are not listed as one.
* Just trying to be cute, and by no means implying that pea would be won over by the ongoing arguments here.
All this must be why I'm an engineer instead of a pollster.
I'm still finding it interesting in spite of the obvious flaws. Thanks for all your participation and input.
