John McCain's presidential campaign said thousands of dollars worth of clothing purchased by the Republican Party for running mate Sarah Palin will go to a "charitable purpose" after the campaign.

How many of you have a campaign's worth of nice suits at the ready?
If you are female, do you have a wardrobe worth of such wear knowing that the press is waiting to pick you apart?
Do any of you have such attire and in sufficient numbers for your kids?
Could any of you absorb the hefty price tag on short notice as she did?

So, if she'd displayed her family in their, probably, normal attire of jeans and flannel shirts (it's Alaska, for Christ's sake!), you'd have ridiculed her for being low-budget and local yokel (to an even greater degree than present).

And as long as I'm at it, how come with Obama raising such unprecedented amounts of cash and the subsequent blitz of radio/print/TV ads, etc, he's not much further ahead?
Never mind that he signed a pledge to only take only the finite federal campaign dollars (nice keeping of his word.), if he is outspending McCain by nearly 4 to 1, why doesn't he have at least a 2 to 1 poll advantage.
I think (and, admittedly hope) there might just be a surprise come 4 Nov 08.

No luck. I checked every dress on Target.com. The most expensive dress shown is an Isaac Mizrahi cashmere turtleneck sweater dress for $99.99.

I can't find the green dress. The one from The View was $147 at Black Market/White House, but it's $99 online. I, too, don't really care about how much the RNC spends on Sarah Palin's wardrobe and makeup. In fact, I'd much rather they blow lots of money on her clothes than use it to fund robocalls that come very close to labeling Obama a terrorist. So I for one say, "Go ahead -- shop till you drop!"
