...by Republicans who know I am voting for Bob Barr, in an attempt to change my vote to McCain.

But interestingly, those who are badgering me, to a person, are trying to get me to change my vote based, not on any attractive qualities/policies/ideas McCain has, but instead by trying to get me to fear an Obama presidency.

My reply to them has been "Think about what it says about how YOU feel about McCain that you have decided the best way to convince me to vote for him is via fear of Obama rather than by pointing out anything good about McCain."

Sir, I can assure you that you are not being badgered. All of my time is occupied by working with witnesses that oppose my attorney friends. I am sorry that you are being bothered, but please don't refer to this as being badgered.

I can't think of a good analogy to support your friends position. But what you are planning on doing is what I did in 92. I did not want to vote for Bush. He was, IMO, not a good choice. So I voted for Perot. A better choice, IMO, at the time. I think a lot of conservatives did the same. Enough so, that it opened the door for Bill Clinton, and he won. I wasn't wanting Bill Clinton to be president. I would rather have had Bush. But I wanted to send a message to the Republican party. They didn't get the message. But, while Bill Clinton, IMO, was not good for the country, I did not feel he could damage it to the point of no return. I was right on that point. Some may even say he didn't damage the country at all. I disagree, but that is not the point of this post. The point of this post is to say that McCain is not my 1st choice for president. My 1st choice is not in the race. I would like to try and send another message to the Republican party. BUT, this time I do not have the same confidence in the resiliancy of this country to recover from any damage done by Obama. So, I will vote for McCain. On positions alone I can tell you A, B, C & D on why you should vote for McCan. I can tell you E, F, G, & H for why you shouldn't vote for McCain. But I through Z, why you should not vote for Obama, IMO, trumps any and all other candidates.

I'm not interested in sending any message.

I've logn since given up any hope that anyone involved in the two major parties listens to or even cares about any message.

I'm voting for someone most aligned with what I believe in, that's all.

And, IMHO, this country has already suffered enough damage that anything either Obama or McCain could do is unimportant, as far as I'm concerned.
