Chinese may have faked space walk?

#1 Post by silvercamaro » Thu Oct 16, 2008 4:32 pm

Here's video of the recent Chinese space walk that provides some evidence that the whole thing may have been done under water:

Maybe outer space is fake. Maybe we all live in a really, really, really big tent.

Has anyone here been to China? How do we know China isn't fake?

It can't be fake. We've all seen it on TV. --Bob

Maybe television is fake. Maybe that's just Annie, thinking stories and moving pictures into the backs of our eyelids.

The Chinese astronauts were believed to be 13 years old, but their passports and birth certificates "proved" they were 16.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

Back in the 60s there was an issue of one of the "Popular" magazines (Science, Mechanics) that tried to show that the Soviet Union had faked its space walk (which preceeded the U.S. space walk). They compared photos of the two walks, spoke about lighting and the angularity of the tether/oxygen line, etc.

Part of the bubbles discussion is misleading. Orbiting astronauts are not in "zero gravity". They are in free-fall, not the same thing. Objects that fall off things in free-fall don't necessarily stay in one place. They can often demonstrate that zooming away perspective.

Looked like debris flying away to me.

No opinion either way on whether it was faked or not.
No matter where you go, there you are.

On the bright side, there is no state income tax in Nevada.

I'm just wondering how old those 'astronauts' really were.
Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.
