Has anyone figured out if we can get links to open in a new window?
Having to leave The Bored to view a linked web page is my current pet peeve.
Bob J contributed this tidbit, for which I am ever grateful:

Hold down the Control key while clicking the link.

I remember to do it about 25% of the time, but I'm getting better.
Thanks for the work-around. Playing with that, I actually prefer right-clicking and selecting "Open in New Window"
Now I am ever grateful to you!!

If you want to open a new window instead of a new tab, hold down SHIFT instead of CTRL while left-clicking.

Nope. :D I just didn't say anything because I never had to do anything.

More Feedback

#54 Post by TheConfessor » Wed Oct 15, 2008 2:02 am

I'm not sure this is the right thread for questions, requests, or suggestions, but I think Dave reads this, so I'll mention something I just noticed.

When you check the membership list, it appears that the only way you can view it is in the chronological order in which people joined. This is pretty limited. I've seen other boards (e.g. Ken Jennings php board) where the membership list can be sorted according to several different parameters, such as alphabetical by name, by number of posts, etc. This would be nice to have, if possible.

I just noticed the sorting drop box was not there... but it appears you can still order the list by clicking on the appropriate header. For example, to get an alphabetical list of members (Like I use to compile the rankings), click on "Username" at the top of the list.....

Ah, yes, that does work! And by clicking on the header a second time, you can reverse the sort order.

She had the tee on, she was just facing away from the camera in that particular photo. :D

Is there any need to maintain this thread as an Announcement? If not, I'll probably de-Announce it in the next day or two (unless someone beats me to it). --Bob

Don't be in such a hurry; there may be some BBs who haven't been around in the past week or so to see the changes, yet.

I'm probably going to pull this one down from the top myself shortly, but I'll be replacing it with another thread that deals with all the recent changes, so I can find everyone's comments regarding said changes, rather than having to hunt through all the other threads.
