Which Usual Suspects are you talking about, the MM makers, or the political ranters?
I would watch mildew growing on the wall before I'd watch a political debate.....

I didn't get to see much of the debate, but I believe the name of Joe the Plumber was invoked on more than one occasion.

I thought the political ranters might have been discussing Joe the Plumber, but the MM makers would use his name for its comic value.littlebeast13 wrote:Which Usual Suspects are you talking about, the MM makers, or the political ranters?

I watched it. McCain, the non-Conservative, didn't get the knockout punch (and he had openings with Obama's Socialist tax plan and his radical abortion stance).MarleysGh0st wrote:must not have watched last night's debate.

Obama was just Obama, the cold and calculating, lying, baby-killing Socialist. What else is new?

Excuse me, Daniel, but this thread was to discuss Merry Men. I wasn't actually soliciting any political ranting here.

That wasn't a rant. It was a statement that there wasn't anything really worth posting about the debate last night.MarleysGh0st wrote:Excuse me, Daniel, but this thread was to discuss Merry Men. I wasn't actually soliciting any political ranting here.

Re: The Usual Suspects...
Excuse me, but this thread started off with a comment about the debates. The point of my post was that there was nothing new or worthwhile from the debate last night. I think everyone on this board knows my opinions of Obama, and I was just rather flippantly saying that they haven't changed. Why is it that posts that dare insult the Great and Powerful Obama get knocked, but posts insulting McCain or Palin go unchallenged (unless it's by one of the few conservatives on the bored)?christie1111 wrote:Have you not gotten it yet Daniel?the cold and calculating, lying, baby-killing Socialist

There's a huge difference between a political position and demonizing rhetoric. Some people get it and some don't. Did you notice the Devil Incarnate was quick to point out how he agreed with the Second Coming on some of his points? Sometimes there's a middle ground. And the Calculating, Immoral, Spawn Of Satan is very likely to become YOUR president, so maybe you can learn to put your Country First and live with that.danielh41 wrote:Excuse me, but this thread started off with a comment about the debates. Re: The Usual Suspects...
It is possible to post something about the debate (although this was more a Merry Man discussion thread) without using loaded words designed to evoke a visceral response ("baby-killing", "Socialist"). Those of us who have read through the political forums know of your opinion of Obama; was it really necessary to say anything other than something to the effect that McCain "didn't get the knockout punch"?danielh41 wrote:Excuse me, but this thread started off with a comment about the debates. Maybe they shoulda had you, Fanny, and Wellman decorate the stage. It would be such a humorous clash of two things I absolutely can't stand, that I'd be sure to watch it!

Re: The Usual Suspects...
You are giving McCain waaaaaay too much credit by calling him "Devil Incarnate" and "Spawn of Satan". Names like that are reserved only for Mr. Cheney.minimetoo26 wrote:There's a huge difference between a political position and demonizing rhetoric. Some people get it and some don't. If you mark someone as a foe, you don't even get their avatar, much less anything they've posted (you'll still get it in other people's quotes, though). You'll just get an unobtrusive (so much so that you'll miss it unless you're specifically looking for it) line sandwiched between other posts that 'someone' posted.christie1111 wrote:Have you not gotten it yet Daniel?
