New computer coming

#1 Post by gsabc » Mon Oct 13, 2008 7:00 am

No idea on the color, before you ask. :P

Windows Live Search and HP had a deal last week, offering an increased cashback (read: rebate) of 20% for all purchases, plus free shipping. Since we're in the market anyway, that sounded like a really good deal. I convinced GW to let me buy it in these uncertain economic times.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 CPU, 8GB SDRAM, 1 TB (TERAbyte!) hard drive, high end graphics and sound cards, 22-inch flat panel monitor, MS Office 2007, all for less than we paid for our current system nearly 8 years ago - I am SO looking forward to it! Maybe I can finally play Sploofus from home.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Sounds fabulous, but you must venture into laptop territory. Once
you have one, you'll wonder how you lived without it. They come in all colors
now. We will need a report on what color you get.

Does it have the 64-bit version of Windows XP or Vista? Otherwsie you'll be using only 3.5GB of RAM.

I'm cool. 64-bit version of Vista Home Premium with SP1.
