According to DPS reports, an SUV driven by 24-year-old Caldwell resident Devona Quinton Davis ran off the roadway while heading south. She then overcorrected to the left, lost control and flipped her vehicle, troopers said.
The SUV slid into a car driven by Brenham resident Jaqueline Simon, 55, according to the DPS report.
Both women were rushed to Trinity Medical Center where Simon died about an hour after the crash, troopers said. Davis received lacerations and remained hospitalized Sunday night.

Saw this accident shortly after it happened, after 4-5 law enforcement vehicles arrived but before the abulances arrived. It looked pretty bad.
