Zap's First Kill

#1 Post by PlacentiaSoccerMom » Wed Oct 08, 2008 2:54 pm

I went out in the backyard to clean up poop and discovered a dead mouse next to the poop.

At least it wasn't a cat.

Maybe Zap didn't even kill it. Perhaps the mouse was asphyxiated by a pile of poop larger than anything ever before encountered.

Scary subject line, but that would have evoked a much different response from you, I'm thinking.

Are you sure one of the cats didn't bring Zap the mouse as a "welcome to the family" present? :)

LOL, Marley. They are warning him as to what they are capable of doing.

Or an offering to a superior being.

Oh, yeah, I guess that makes more sense!

But now that I think about it, they might not even be outdoor cats. I hear that coyotes have a taste for those in California.

O.K. I may have missed it somewhere.

What is Zap? A dog? Cat? Goat?

You gotta start reading some non-political posts, BiT!

Zap is a greyhound they've adopted from a local rescue center. PSM and the girls have been volunteering there for the last couple months or so. And posting reports about their visits.

The cats haven't been allowed outside since Zap moved in. I have read that the sight of a cat scurrying in the backyard can change the personality of a Greyhound and I am not willing to risk it.
