I signed up to receive news and weather alerts from a couple of our local news stations. It is usually a race to see who gets the news out first.

According to the alert I received earlier this afternoon (see below), it looks like cold is on the way!

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN POCATELLO HAS ISSUED A FREEZE WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.

COLDER AIR WILL BEGIN TO FILTER INTO EASTERN IDAHO ON WEDNESDAY...AS WINTER-LIKE STORM SYSTEM WILL BEGIN TO AFFECT THE REGION. OVERNIGHT LOWS WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY WILL DROP TO OR BELOW FREEZING ACROSS THE SNAKE PLAIN. CURRENT FORECAST LOWS SHOW A POSSIBLE HARD FREEZE..WITH LOWS IN THE MID 20S IN PARTS OF THE UPPER SNAKE PLAIN.

A FREEZE WATCH MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE.
THESE CONDITIONS COULD KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
