It is a good think McDonalds doesn't have cake on the menu.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Maybe it was pickled red cabbage.Beebs52 wrote:NO! It wasn't. I think. It was more a jello-like substance with chunky bits in it. And vinegary. It tasted exactly opposite of what it looked like. Which may apply to the reproductive organ of a horse, but that is something that I shall never have nor take the opportunity to savor.

Perhaps it was a mashed beet thing. But it was completely jello-like. Not a terrine. It was served with venison pie and some other green garnish that one actually wouldn't eat. Mind you, I had just arrived after the 9 or 10 hour flight from Toronto and wasn't in a lunch mood, but, you know it was just...startling.christie1111 wrote:Or some kind of pickled beet?silvercamaro wrote:Maybe it was pickled red cabbage.Beebs52 wrote:NO! No, because it was, like, Hello Kitty pink. And randomly gelatinly chunky. And, tomatos have a pleasing tomatoey flavor and aren't pickly tart. I'm wondering if they were just jacking with me.a1mamacat wrote:Perhaps a tomato aspec?
Although there were other plates that had it on there, too. It was a luncheonette where you picked the plates already assembled.

Eh, it's one of those things I'll never know. It also wasn't one of the cool pubs one goes to, which we did eventually, so maybe it was the equivalent of a Luby's.christie1111 wrote:They do a lot of 'pickles'. So it is hard to know.
Doesn't sound like the best place to eat.
I always go to pubs to eat in England.
Then we went to France where we had nothing but spectacular food, so it was all good. Everybody has their own strengths.

It was probably a beet Picalilli, which is a type of relish garnish stuff.

You know what? Picalilli. That's exactly what it was. It's been years since I've even thought of that particular stuff.a1mamacat wrote:AHA!Beebs52 wrote:No, because it was, like, Hello Kitty pink. I used a Google image search for this. I doubt I would eat anything on my plate if this were even close to it.a1mamacat wrote:AHA!Beebs52 wrote:No, because it was, like, Hello Kitty pink.
