Apparently you are dead after you reach age 50, and no one pays attention to what you tell them. After two straight weeks of screwups with my own 401(k) over-50 extra deductions, GW's payroll company has decided to do the same damfool thing with hers. Despite having sent an e-mail asking her again if she wished to have the extra $5K taken out (she told them in the initial deduction request) and receiving an answer of "yes".

Want to screw up a planned budget? Mess with the amount of money you get each paycheck and change the deductions each time.

One of the worst offenders is WWTBAM. They completely eliminated their 50-50.
