It wasn't Nigerians!
I got a phone call from a Detective in Hoover Alabama today.
The police followed up on the report that I filed with the Placentia Police Department and on a "We-Tip" web site.
It seems that Mr. Les Stuckey answered an ad on Craigslist for part time work. He agreed to act as a shipper for an organization called Global Parcel Express. Computers got shipped to his house and he forwarded them to Russia. For each computer he forwarded, he received $30. The Russians are the people who were breaking into eBay accounts.
Mr. Stuckey didn't realize that it is illegal to ship computers to Russia. Apparently Mr. Stuckey did this eight times before they were caught because of my tracking down the UPS label. The Russians realized their scam was compromised and stopped using Mr. Stuckey as a shipper.
The police can't prosecute Mr. Stuckey because they can't prove that he had criminal intent.

You know, I hadn't thought about that, but maybe it would be nice to pass a notable profession down to my family. As soon as they realized that the police were on to Les, they closed their bank accounts and email addresses, so the police can't locate them.geoffil wrote:PSM,
