I never miss Mad Men.
I started watching it last year -- the first episode -- to see the vintage fashions and got immediately pulled in by the show's stellar production values.
Plus, I love old advertising and ad campaigns so I get the biggest kick out of that angle, too.
ALSO, the Television without Pity forum on the show ROCKS! It's almost as much fun as the Bored!
I read the threads about each episode (not commenting). Some very astute observers pull back layers in some scene, touching on nuances in dialogue or shots that I hadn't thought about.

I firmly believe that giant inflatables on games days (or other special events/holidays) should be permitted everywhere on the basis of whimsy. Any neighborhood without an appreciation for the whimsical is pretentiously stodgy and needs to get over itsownself.Beebs52 wrote:
Inflatables aren't one of those things that are "allowed". But, who are they going to yell at? It's gone by the end of the night. Plus, I work where the people send cards out about crap like that and if they send me one I shall forthwith place it back into their interoffice mail with a glob of chewed gum.
Just look at the photo. I mean, no matter the color of his uniform, that's a pudgy player worthy of love.

I never watch for vintage fashion. I hold a secret terror that I'll spot something that hangs in my own closet.mellytu74 wrote:I never miss Mad Men.
