If you think this month is more competitive than usual, you are right.
The BBs who currently in the top 100 (and I mean 100 this time) are approximately 38 correct answers better than they were at this time in July. (Ggossage figures not available for 7/08 )
Even with the plethora of boreders clogging the top 100, that works out to a little more than 2 more questions right per person, or 2400-3000 points.
each.

There is a reason for this. - the tightening is because, as the playing continues, those answering questions correctly will rise to the top. That is us, gang.littlebeast13 wrote:I think I've only missed 1 question in the last 2 weeks or so! Up to #522 despite the 0-3 start to the month!
Of course, that still won't cut it with the ever tightening threshold the OCD one's cutting his list to today.....

Of those~50 people I have current numbers on, all are at least in the 85th percentile of all players. Of those, the median is in the 98th.
Within 1000 points of the score where I stopped scanning the standings there are 874 scores. picking one of us out becomes tedious hit & miss work. But, as the threshold rises, the total number of scores reported stays approximately the same.
So, when PSM or any number of us hits a question where only 7-8% got it right, we would have a better percentage. Don't believe me? Today I got a Question which only 8.2% answered correctly.
In what city is "The Plague" by Camus primarily located?
Tunis
Algiers
Tripoli
Oran
Marakesh
I suspect it would have a higher percentage here.

Today was literally a 1 in 5 chance for me that I got lucky with. All I can remember is that the topic was Physical Science and the five possible answers were three letters (G, R, and U, that sort of thing). I picked Choice #4 because I hadn't chosen that number in a while, and - voila! - I see Congratulations!
I know that October can't come close to September for me.

My question today involved baseball. If there is one topic where I think my chances of getting the answer right approach 100 percent, baseball is it. As I read the question, however, my reaction is: "WTF?!" Fifteen seconds march on. No freaking clue. I click on one. "Sorry" is the response. Four (!) percent of people got it right. Random guessing would presumably get you to 20%. Whatever. Props to those in the lead.
