Blasts from the past
Since I've been away so long, I was wondering when anyone last heard from the following:
jmcachran
Astronomer - my PAF
scruffyclaus - the carryover contestant on my show
Exeter5 - who immediately followed me into the hot seat; it seems like he missed his 2000 dollar question on the following show on something having to do with Mexican food.

jmcachran has not been seen around here since early 2001.
Astro last posted on 2/23/02, but that was his first and only post since 2/23/01 (I brought him out of the woodwork, so it wasn't a coincidence).
scruffy hasn't been seen since shortly after that 3/11/01 show (Which not only contained 3 BB's in the Hot Seat, but 5 BB shoutouts in the questions, and a question... I believe one of yours you used a lifeline on, which I had just asked in the February 2001 QoD about the weasel family).
Exeter571 (Jade Smith) was lost after the original ABC Bored tumbled at the end of November 2001. He never followed us to the hiding places during the Morlock invasion, so it was no surprise he never followed us to the Love Boat...

Only two out of four exact dates, beast?
How disappointing!
Make that one exact date and one "shortly after" an exact date. Even worse.

If it wasn't apparent, Exeter was with us (And, I believe, playing the November 2001 QoD) right up until the Bored's D-Day on 11/30/01, so his last post was likely that day or a day or two before it. That's a lot better than I can do for scruffy or jmcachran...

I remember using my ask the audience lifeline on that weasel family question, only because I wasn't 100% sure of my answer, but I don't remember what the question was. I'll have to watch my mpeg file again...littlebeast13 wrote:scruffy hasn't been seen since shortly after that 3/11/01 show (Which not only contained 3 BB's in the Hot Seat, but 5 BB shoutouts in the questions, and a question... Jade and I exchanged a couple of e-mails in March of 2001, but I haven't heard from him since then. I still have the e-mails, and I'll send you the address I have for him in a PM so you can invite him to this board. Of course, after 6 and a half years, that e-mail address may not be any good any more...

I only provided one exact date...

How fun!
That's actually pretty common for me. I think the extra periods I tend to add on at the end give me an impatient, pissed off kind of mood.
Speaking of pissed off, I'll bet John Ashcroft's getting his panties in a bunch again...

That's about right, but it's explained in more detail in the FAQ.MarleysGh0st wrote:I still don't understand why an editing footnote shows up for me sometimes and not others? Is there a window during which you can sneak in a quick fix without it being noted?
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!
That'll be $10, please.

You think so?littlebeast13 wrote:That's actually pretty common for me. I think the extra periods I tend to add on at the end give me an impatient, pissed off kind of mood.
I frequently use the ellipsis at the end of a sentence, which I know is grammatical incorrect, but I think it adds an inflectional emphasis, indicating that the conversation just trails off instead of coming to an abrupt, full stop.
Common usage can change the rules, over time. This one would be much better than what we'll end up with from the text messaging world.

Wouldn't that sort of cancel out the need for four hours though?peacock2121 wrote:Give him a second.minimetoo26 wrote:I'm just glad Four_Hour_Stiffy hasn't registered yet...peacock2121 wrote: panties got a wee bit too bunched, I guess.
