Excuse me
Frankly, I'm suspicious of anyone who has a strong opinion on a complicated issue.

Why are you suspicious of intelligent people?peacock2121 wrote:Frankly, I'm suspicious of anyone who has a strong opinion on a complicated issue.
Frankly, I can't respect someone who can't, won't, or won't express an opinion on an important issue, complicated or not.

Your important issue may be my cup of WGAS.....
And vice versa....

Re: Excuse me
Well, if I think it is an issue should be important for someone and their attitude is WGAS, then there is no respect (at least for that topic). I realize that an issue that is important to me may or may not be important to others. As there are issues important to them that I don't care about. That has nothing to do with my statement above. I can't respect someone who has a WGAS attitude about something that should be important to them. And there are some issues that should be, and some that shouldn't be, and I'm not all knowing on what they all are, but there are some that are easy calls.littlebeast13 wrote:BackInTex wrote:Why are you suspicious of intelligent people?peacock2121 wrote:Frankly, I'm suspicious of anyone who has a strong opinion on a complicated issue.

The economy? Should be important to you.
Abortion? Could be, may not be, does't have to be.

I guess I see a big difference between WGAS and not wanting to get into 'discussions' of my personal views on a message board.
Being someone who would rather hang out and cook in the Moratorium Lounge, doesn't mean I don't care or don't have strong opinions. I have carefully thought out my opinions on things like abortion and who I am voting for. I am just not in the least bit interested in getting into unpleasant shouting matches and name calling that has sometimes occured in the political threads.
