Wet! A little windy as well...

Actually I am not sure I am a good judge. I spent most of the time in the bowels (so to speak...) of a basketball arena cleaning up poop and pee on 12 hour night shifts and sleeping (or at least trying to) during the day. Who knew so many people snore, including the women, and that it would be that difficult to sleep in a gym/dormitory with 60 or so of your closest co-workers on cots too short for even an average person to fully stretch out on...

We were in the Reed Arena at Texas A&M in what amounted to a 300+ bed makeshift nursing home. 300 incontinent people on cots with paper sheets ain't a pretty picture people! But it can be fragrant...

I am back now but only because a new team relieved us. It is still in business as far as I know as many of those people have no where else to go yet. Many nursing homes are still without power on the coast I suppose and home bound patients have no homes to return to. Many were just barely hanging on as it was before the hurricane and would likely not make it until things return to something closer to normal.

The worst of the storm passed mostly east of us. But if I hadn't known it was out there I would have missed the whole thing. The arena was a pretty good place to weather a storm. The few times I made it to a window there was plenty of rain and heavy winds much of the day on Saturday. But by Sunday it was back pretty much back to the usual delightfully hot sunny muggy Texas weather again.
