SSS, one quick question...

#1 Post by Rexer25 » Thu Sep 18, 2008 2:41 pm

Do you think you are going to change anyone's vote in this election?

A short answer will suffice.

No sheeeeeeeeeeet.

He's turned into that bane of message boards everywhere - the troll. My theory is that he's actually Joe Lieberman, and he isn't getting out of the house enough.

I really wish he'd turn off the cable "news" and turn on some game shows. I've heard they're pretty entertaining.

Perhaps he just wants everyone voting for Obama to know exactly what it is they are voting for...

He sure isn't changing my vote! If anything, he's only reinforcing my decision....

Stepping briefly out of the Lounge, just to ask a question:

In answers of no more than 3 words each, SSS, would you still be suddenly pushing for the Republican ticket if the Democratic ticket looked like:

Pres: Barack Obama; Veep: Hillary Clinton?
Pres: Hillary Clinton; Veep: Barack Obama?

And finally again, in no more than 3 words, do you honestly believe that, had Sen. Clinton won the Democratic race, she'd have chosen Sen. Obama as her running mate, just because he got the next-highest number of votes?

What they read in his political posts and your political posts are views of the candidates slanted by personal distaste. It's hard for objective observers to take seriously any analysis where the biases are so evident.

In case you are wondering, I would like for the political posting to stop, but that's my preference. I don't have, and don't want, the responsibility for monitoring every last little item that others share here. The people who set up, maintain and administer our little haven want everyone to feel free to say what they want. That is as it should be. I would just ask the posters to show some consideration for others. I don't think the posts of a few are going to change people's mind in this election. And it is true we can just skip over those posts. But (IMVHO), these strident posts are just poisoning the atmosphere. I know a little more love is asking too much, but a little less hate would really improve things.

Sincerely,
Pollyanna

Rex, this is completely off-topic, non-partisan and non-political (good things, all, except maybe the off-topic unless you think the topic is "Millionaire"):

I just wanted to go on record as saying that that young lady in your avatar is totally precious. If she's yours, you done good.

Yes and no respectively; I think it's the President that matters, but my feeling is that neither of those was going to happen. Obama and the Clintons hate each other despite all the lovey doveyness in public right now.

An Obama/Clinton ticket would be faring much better right now than Obama/Biden.

I'll answer...with a question (I know- bad form).

Why do you think anyone's trying to change anyone's vote?

Just about everything political posted on bulletin boards is pointless blather.

People post on message boards to get stuff off their chests, and then live their lives.

He didn't say he thought that.

He just asked a question - you added the rest.

That's why I said it was bad form to answer a question with a question.

But it was a logical question to ask...because in asking SSS that...is it really too hard to assume he might have been thinking that was a motivation for SSS's posts?
