Nobody will schedule Our Lady of the Haphazard Miracle. For one thing, it's a girls' school. Besides that, they win whatever and whenever they want to win. (That doesn't mean they win them all, as the ladies in black and white stress the importance of both cleanliness and charity.)

ROFL!!!

I'm trying not to LOL, as the boss will probably quote CousinHoward if I do. "Get to work!"

Far be it from me to stick up for Penn State but doesn't Pitt play Bowling Green, Buffalo, and Notre Dame. Talk about a cake non-conference schedule.

Bowling Green - #87 in the Sagarin rankings out of 119 Div. 1A teams
Buffalo - #124 out of 119 Div. 1A teams

124 out of 119!

Wait a tick! Bowling Green? What were they thinking?
No matter where you go, there you are.

I think that's the school kusch and spock attended. I think they were both played on the offensive line.......the solid Blocks of Bakken.

I think it falls into the rhetorical catagory. He is just poking fun at my alma mater.

It is in thanks for all the cat stuff for his birthday cuz he liked it so much.

:-)

Pitt vs. PennState used to be a big rivalry game played the day after Thanksgiving. That sort of ended when we went to Pitt and beat Dan Marino in his last home game (54-14). They really haven't had much of a team since then.

I was at that game and it was GREAT!

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
