Today's Jeopardy -- 9/16/08
Today's Final Jeopardy asked a question about U.S. Presidents. One guy answered:
That response was accepted without comment, even though there was never a president by that name. Their rules seem pretty flexible.
George Bush, Sr.

George Bush, Sr.
Spoiler
My guess is that they viewed the 'Sr' as disambiguation as opposed to part of the name - similar to them writting George Bush - the elder one, or George Bush (the father of W) - since he is usually not referred to with his initials as opposed to W.

Spoiler
Putting this into spoiler space on the assumption that if I did not, someone might reverse engineer the Presidential question, and be disappointed
But then I decided to mention 42 +- 1 in any case.
I have wondered how many reigning monarchs with a unique first name of those who have held that throne, choose to style themselves as "I", in the assumption that others will follow. Fairly certain that Elizabeth I (1558-1603) did not. I try to be careful, not saying "Elizabeth I" when referring to contemperaneous communication
So I suppose anybody naming their kid may be renaming themselves, but in this case it should be GHWB and GWB, properly.
I wonder if BUSH-41 would have sufficed.

If they don't have this competition if five or six years time, my daughter will have to become a Celebrity to get back on the show.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

I'll say the same thing to Maddie that I say to all the other contestants who've been there: She can have another chance as soon as everyone else has had their first chance!PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Hey! uly (notice how I just used the lower case 'u', even though it offends all grammatical rules about starting sentences with an upper case letter) has consistently been spelling my name with a lower case 'm', as you used to. I though you had noticed that. I mentioned that I would occasionally capitalize his name as a sort of confession, to discount my own annoyance. Sorry for the confusion.peacock2121 wrote:LOL - I had no idea that I was telling you that.MarleysGh0st wrote:Pea says I should talk to you directly, because this issue bothers me, uly.ulysses5019 wrote: that's how marley plans to get on.
Capital 'M'! Please remember.
I thought we were talking about uly's name, not what uly calls you.

I know how to get back at him - consistently use a "U" (as opposed to "u") when using his Bored handle.MarleysGh0st wrote:uly (notice how I just used the lower case 'u', even though it offends all grammatical rules about starting sentences with an upper case letter) has consistently been spelling my name with a lower case 'm', as you used to.
