I got tickets
For several years now, I have been wanting to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra live. I had the chance in Vegas and then again in S.C. but the timing was always wrong and I never got to see them. Well, they are coming to Des Moines in December and as soon as I heard they were coming I went to get tickets. I got good seats (not on the floor) and am anxiously awaiting the concert.

I had a chance to see them live a couple years ago but didn't take advantage of the opportunity, something that I regret to this day. Enjoy the concert and enjoy the anticipation.Sir_Galahad wrote:For several years now, I have been wanting to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra live. We saw TSO for the first time last year. They are awesome! Already got my tickets for Jan 3 in Chicago (or, um, Rosemont): main floor, 6th row. It doesn't seem to matter where you sit, though, because the show permeates the arena. Last year we were in the nosebleed seats and still had an incredible experience.

I have always wanted to see them because they were originally a derivative of one of my favorites rock bands, Savatage. Now, their shows have taken on a life of their own. Although I do believe several members or former members of the band still play with the troupe.Estonut wrote:I've seen them 5 times and absolutely LOVE that show! I'm a sucker for Christmas shows, anyway. Between our TSO show conflicting with my sister's birthday and Brian Setzer Orchestra cancelling their Christmas show, I don't know what I'll do for my Christmas music fix this year.

Correct, Sir G. They actually have TWO touring companies. One takes the Western half of the country, the other the Eastern. they split up the folks that have played on the records. The band we get is always led by Chris Caffery, and has Jeff Plate on drums and Bob Kinkel (one of the co-creators of the TSO concept) on keyboards. I know we've seen Alex Skolnik and Al Petrelli on guitars and John Lee Middleton on bass, but I don't recall if they were band members each of the three years we've seen the band.Sir_Galahad wrote:I have always wanted to see them because they were originally a derivative of one of my favorites rock bands, Savatage. Haven't been to a TSO show in 3 years. Wanted to go this year, but it's doubtful I can pony up the cash for my crew to go this year right now, and since tix already went on sale, it'll probably be sold out before I save up enough.

Thanks for mentioning them, because I'd really enjoy seeing them. I'll go see if they are coming anywhere close to where I live.Sir_Galahad wrote:For several years now, I have been wanting to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra live. TSO is once again coming to the Giant Center in Hershey in November. We've gone to see them twice, but this year we have a schedule conflict. Sooo disappointing. However...last week I found out Elton John is coming to Hershey on Oct. 15th, so I was ready the moment the tickets went on sale on Monday. Not a bad trade off.
