Celebrity 5th Grader (spoilers)

#1 Post by MarleysGh0st » Fri Nov 09, 2007 7:21 am

Spoiler
Tony Hawk was the celebrity contestant this week. He did okay, no great embarrassments, but nothing outstanding, either. Lots of fluff about his celebrity status, though, including a surprise visit from his favorite teacher who supported him in his early skateboarding dreams, and a home video of him skateboarding at age ten.

I'm beginning to like this new class of students, though. Less of a professional actor/actress air about them, and more of the competitive game show contestant spirit. Or game show lifeline spirit, as it happens to be here. When they get questions right and walk back to their desks, they share a high five with each other.

In particular, Nathan has been cultivating the title of "The Closer"; he likes being called last, so he can help out a contestant for the big money questions. Last night he helped Tony out twice, with the Save and then the Copy, getting $175,000 for Tony's foundation. Tony promised to name a skateboard park in Nathan's honor. (Actually, since he promised that after the $100K level, I think he owes Nathan two parks!) And, at the end of the show, Tony took the skateboard he had entered on and handed it to Nathan, autographing it for him. Finally, a tip! :)

WTG, Nathan!

It's all his fault. That'll be $10.

Good to see you migrated over here, fern. Can we get you anything? A slightly shadier place for your pot?
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

Beast was riding me about my slackness, so I had just created The Fern and saw a place to post with it.

Oh, absolutely!

One of my fantasies about getting on this show, aside from it being a ticket for an easy $500K, would be bantering with Jeff Foxworthy to stop some of that drawn-out suspense.

Get on with it, Jeff!
