Oh, we could talk about them, but I don't think you'd like to hear what people are saying about them!

Forever? After I flew across the country yesterday to write a pome for you, and I went to all the trouble to steal this avatar in honor of your birthday?

Harumph. I feel the need to keep it a bit longer.

Hmmnn. I'm still seeing it. If BDM is seeing the red X like you are, I would like him to know that RED X is the universal symbol for WE LOVE CATS!

It's probably related to the Photobucket problem I seem to be having today....

That's probably his fault too.....

What does photo bucket have to do with avatars over here?

Some of us use links to external sites such as Photobucket for our avatars. This gets around the 200x200 limit, at least allowing for a taller avatar. SC and I used photobucket for our cat avatars, and LB has something blocking his access to photobucket images, so he just sees a red X instead of the image.

Demands have consequences if they are not complied with.

What is the consequence?

Will you leave and never come back?

Apparently you can make demands of google a get a seersucker cat.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
