That's Real Clear Politics.

Minnesota is now in play.

A Republican hasn't taken Minnesota since 1972.

Its the accent, you betcha
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

BTW, I don't Senator McCain will win Minnesota, but the fact that it is now considered a toss-up is indicative of the larger problem that Senator Obama has.

It is a state that likes Mavericks enough to elect Jesse Ventura as Governor.

Latest Washington state poll had Obama only +2 as well. If Obama has to play defense in these states (and with the Palin pick, McCain has a lot more foot soldiers available for get-out-the-vote efforts), that will hurt his chances to flip states like VA or CO or OH he needs to win.

Naturally, McCain would get a boost in the Minnesota polls, considering that they just had the Republican Convention there. The question will be whether these polls numbers will hold in the final weeks of the campaign.
