Houston, we have a problem

Four million without power. I don't expect to "see" many BB's from that area today.

I hope all they lose is power and maybe a couple extra leaves they won't need to rake in the Fall. :(

Did your fellas get make it OK last night?

You're up early. Of course, I'm up at least an hour earlier than I wanted, but that's thanks to an 8 month old. I hope he's ready for nap already.

I checked in with my parents in The Woodlands. They have no power, no phones, but no flooding. Trees are down all over the neighborhood and the wind is blowing like crazy. In Chicago we are getting "sympathy" rain in honor of them right now. Next time they will leave the area and fly here.

People here were out in force yesterday. Gas went up 20 cents from yesterday AM to PM. Several gas stations ran out of gas and lines were 3 or 4 deep at the other stations. Most places are out of C and D batteries and water, among other things I'm sure. I already have gas, water, C and D batteries, unscented candles...

It's almost people are preparing for our yearly ice storm.

I'm just with my niece and my new do at my place, chillin', waiting for Ike since we are yet again in the projected path.

If gas just went up 20 cents, they were lucky.
