Don't worry, this ends sometime.

Normally at weddings or other family affairs, the younger children are bored out of their skulls. We made sure they weren't, and kept themselves occupied, by providing toys, which I mentioned earlier. The photographers also helped with their entertainment, taking many pictures of them as they played or ate. The kids were also recruited to push out the tier of cupcakes, and were posed with the cupcakes in the photos. They were inventive. Both sets of Barrel of Monkeys were combined to form a chain between two chairs, and also from a nearby fake potted plant to a chair. We smartly had put the kids' table out along one side, out of the way of adults moving toward the dance floor or the food. It effectively ended up as a little play area of their own.
One endearing note: one of the little girls (4 years old? 5?) came up to BD holding the lid to the pickup sticks cylinder. Inside, it held some flower petals and jeweled stickers in a pretty pattern. The girl told BD that she was sorry she hadn't gotten her anything for her wedding, so she had made BD this as a gift. Awww! The pickup sticks container remains lidless. The gift is somewhere around.
Somewhere around 5:00, the rain had stopped and some "partly sunny" had broken out. Did we want more outside wedding party photos? Sure! We headed out to the patio, where we intended the ceremony to take place (in with the wedding photos are some shots of the setup outside, before the monsoon hit). The photographers did their thing, and so did a number of guests. I'll admit it, I did, too. It had become quite a nice day, and the background overlooking the lush greenery of the country club, with the billowing clouds overhead, was too good to pass up. This photo set included the "fun" shots: the "flying bridesmaids" photo (photographer lies on ground, bridesmaids and bride form a ring of faces and linked arms above, looks like a skydiving routine); photos with people jumping into the air; bride and bridesmaids arranged down a set of stairs, and so forth.
