Looks like I arrived just in time. I'll have some of those wonderful strawberries and a serving of the casserole. To drink - a glass of orange juice.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I will bring my famous breakfast casserole! It has eggs, sausage, mushrooms, cheese and crescent rolls.

Don't forget to add the liquid grapes.

Egg and sausage casserole:
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound pork sausage
1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
12 eggs, beaten
½ cup of milk
1 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Optional: Mushrooms, Goat Cheese
DIRECTIONS:
Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Line the bottom of the prepared baking dish with crescent roll dough, and sprinkle with crumbled sausage. In a large bowl, mix beaten eggs, milk and cheese. Season the mixture with oregano, and pour over the sausage and crescent rolls.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
(I often make this dish with Mushrooms. I microwave them for about two or three minutes, drain them , then add them to the egg mixture after it’s beaten. Maddie doesn’t like Mushrooms, so she usually picks them out. I also slice small clumps of Chevre (goat cheese) into the mixture, but I know that not everyone is a fan of “stinky cheese.” This dish can be assembled the night before and popped into the oven.)
