That is my opinion of the new format.
I will now go search out what you-all said.
I would use Skype to talk to a dear friend/relative I could not get to see because they live in, like, Antarctica. As a TV deal, in makes poor Bill Nye look like a really bad robot.
Old Format:
Hearing someone twist in the wind voicewise is an interesting phone-a-friend thing, in a cruel way. Hearing them nail it is a good thing.
New Format:
Watching a photo of their head while their voice does the drama, either way, is distracting to the point of taking all the juice out of the drama.
Its worse than watching Bill Nye do the Skype Robot.
Time limits:
A good lady went down yesterday who might have lasted if she'd had Time To Think. Maybe not, as the audience was dead wrong & sure of itself. But Maybe After All, if she'd had a 50/50, she could have used it. Or if she'd decided to double dip. You pretty much have to develop a double-dip request reflex, rather than burn up time deciding.

I think the dead air while Bill Nye reads the question is awkward, and bad TV. I'm not sure how to fix that. I suppose it could be edited out with no problem. There's no clock running at that time.
The Skype video quality doesn't bother me. Skype is sponsoring the show, and this is an effective way to demonstrate their product. The Skype audio seems to have some slight delays that inhibit conversation.

Yeah, I've been on pins and needles when I've watched it this week. There are a couple of edgy sound effects that they've played that have made me think, "OH NO!" as if the player blew it. WWTBAM's version of suspense has made me look forward to the show, whereas some of these other shows that try to make it suspenseful via cutting to a commercial break have just annoyed me.peacock2121 wrote:I am kinda liking it.
It does bring a certain stomach flutter to the whole thing.
