I know this is not political and is probably stewical

As in "I stew about stuff," but it's looking like ol' Ike may be going to make things difficult for us Houston area sorts. If we didn't have a really really old dog and a kitten to care about, I would consider hopping the plane Friday, but I really don't want to not be able to return and have power out or a tree on the house and my neighbors having to pick up poop from an incontinent dog.

Surprisingly, Jeff is sort of in the same mindset. I Fedexed the football tickets to our friends today, so, at least they have those if we don't get there.

It's looking a tad dicey.
Well, then

Beebs, I hope Ike takes it easy on everyone there in the Houston area. With luck, it'll just be a little rain and wind, and not do any real damage.
There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

I'm very sorry your trip has been fiddled with. I hope you are spared any damage from Ike, but these weather folks scare the daylights out of us. We're in a damned if we do and damned if we don't situation a lot of times.

I will be thinking about you and yours the next few days. Stay safe and give those critters an extra scritch or two from me.

Hugs from me to you as well.

Happy thoughts and calming energy to the storm.

Stay safe. There will be other games.

Hugs to you and all you nearby loved ones.

Beebs, stay calm and be safe.

After you batten down the hatches (I don't know if that's the right term and if it isn't who gives a flip) get schnockerd. It'll make Ike seem wimpy. Trust me.

Tomorrow we shall know, and thanks guys. Nothing to do other than decide to fly out or hunker down.

Of course, I've already decided to hunker down (and I think Jeff has, too, in his head, so we're cool).

It may be nothing, but I have a feeling that we're going to get something out of this.
