2008 Kennedy Center Honors - For Frank
Barbra Streisand, actor Morgan Freeman and country singer George Jones will be awarded the Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime achievement in the arts, along with choreographer Twyla Tharp and musicians Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey of The Who.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I've been checking every day to see if the new honorees were announced, so on the one day I didn't check, they slip them in. No classical music this year, but music in general is certainly represented by an interesting variety of artists.
Also, this once again proves that politics -- or at least who the President is -- doesn't influence the choice. Charlton Heston was named during Clinton's term. Streisand, like Ossie David and Ruby Dee, during Bush's. And that's the way it should be.
