Not to interrupt the political discussions or anything ...

The DJ? Okay, I guess. I paid little to no attention at all to the music. He was good at being an emcee and getting people to the dance floor. He led the interactive parts well: the "Sweet Caroline" bride vs. groom thing that seems to have become a tradition, at least around here; the bouquet toss, won by one of BD's friends who had done well by the open bar (she came with others, so didn't have to drive home); the electric slide. I never did re-learn ballroom dancing (several attempts over the years have failed for lack of use after the classes), so the bride/FotB dance was half real, half swaying to the music. I did dance with GW several times where we both just swayed and held each other. That was more than sufficient. I don't need an excuse for some PDA. I'll learn to dance another day.
About two-thirds of the way through, during some sort of setup announcements by the DJ, I noticed the coordinator and a couple of the waiters doing something to the floor. The section of the country club we were in was a regular restaurant during the rest of the week. The dance floor was a parquet thing laid out over the normal carpeting. Apparently, it had not been put down and secured properly. There were gaps appearing between the sections, just wide enough for someone to trip on or to catch a high heel, and the waiters were trying to push them together again. I suppose they must have managed, because I didn't hear of anyone hurting themselves.
