A defining moment in my relationship with my dad and in me deciding what I would share with him was in the 9th grade.

I don't even recall what I was outraged about. I do remember it was with the Social Studies teacher. I was telling what happened and what I was going to do about it.

My dad stood up at the dining room table, slammed his hands on the table and said "I will NOT have a rebel in this house."

He still did (have a rebel in this house), he just didn't get to hear about what the rebel was thinking or doing.

Oh - and so this not be viewed as covert - it was meant to maybe have BiT think about his relationship with his daughters - especially my twin in his household.

Be careful, Cal. Statements like this one come back to haunt you. I speak from experience.
No worries.

Cal didn't have his teachers on his PAF list. :P

And, I bet he didn't tell a national audience that he believed that to be true.

There is a bit more to the issue as well.

Our school district if trying to get a bond issue passed for the next election. It would be helpful to the district of the police unions endorse the bond issue.

In the past there has been some resisitance to having the S.A.F.E. program in the schools, because teachers didn't think it was a good program because it painted everything in shades of black and white, which parents found upsetting. So the school district used DARE, which is put on by another police department.

So the bond issue is put out there by the district and all of a sudden S.A.F.E. comes to 6th grade, taught by our local police department.

It will be interesting to see if the police department endorses the bond issue.

The CIA would audio and video tape the parents of this group to use as interrogations aids - talk or we will show you more. :D
My oldest son would take over the camera and recruit all the other kids as performers in a horror movie video, which he and Rain Man would edit. It would make for a hilarious night's entertainment. (My kids are too silly for their horror movies to ever turn out scary.)

So, if your 5th grade daughter 'confronted' and 'sparred' with the teacher to prove that they were wrong and made it a personal mission to prove them wrong they are being disrepspectful?

Don't really have anything to add, just wanted to bump this back to the top.

Can you tell I'm bored, and multi-slacking?

Wouldn't you have loved to have been MY teacher in school?

Well, yeah, duh.

That's kinda the point, though, isn't it?

I think, with the exception of one or two posts, I have shown remarkable restraint in this thread.

Look out for the spelling police.
Do the spelling police come when the word is spelled correctly, but it is used incorrectly. It should be the grammer police.

Oops. I was trying to give you credit for just forgetting to type the "t". I wouldn't have guessed that you would make a grammar error.

I did forget to type the t, but it ends up being a grammar error when you do that. If I were in Emma's class I would lose 2 points.
