You know, I think we all have seen photos of puppies before, PSM.
And they're not likely to distract the political threaders, in any case!

Maybe so.
My brother just got two of them which is what made think to find some pictures.
Although we mostly refer to them as Australian Cattle Dogs within the cattle industry in Indiana. I guess because that covers the blue and red varieties.

Call them whatever you want, they're excellent dogs.
IIRC, all heelers (OK, cattle dogs) are still fairly closely related, even mixed breeds like Casey. The breed was established with the careful effort of several cattle ranchers in Australia starting in the 1870s. Later on, again IIRC in the 1920s, somebody tried to increase the dingo percentage in the breed, but that effort was scotched immediately because of their tendency to bite the critters they were supposed to be protecting.

Yep. They are great dogs. We had Australian Shepherds (which are, of course, not Australian at all) when I was a kid but my brothers much prefer Cattle Dogs now. They don't use them to work cattle, that "heeler" tendency doesn't work too well unless they are well trained. But they are great farm dogs.
