Goodness, I guess you must also think that while the death of Laken Riley was a tragedy, it can't be used to support the argument that people can be just disappeared into Salvadoran prisons.

It’s not pathetic at all. We have a gentleman from Maryland, who is legally supposed to be here, yet was scooped away with his autistic kid in the backseat of the car, and sent back to the place he was escaping from because of that place was dangerous to him.

Given the legal wrangling, I think it’s actually fair to draw a lot of conclusions about this one case, since the Trump administration has essentially said that any one of us can be shipped to El Salvador and nothing can be done, since it’s a foreign policy matter.

The strange thing is, that same administration can arrange for the Tate Brothers to be expedited from Romania, so it’s unclear to me why this guy can’t get pulled out.

So you’re actually correct. It’s not correct for me to simply use this as a single example and say that we can’t draw conclusions, or compare it to an anecdote of your choosing.

In fact, since the Trump administration has made arguments in open court supporting this awful policy, I think we can draw a lot of conclusions about how horrible they are, and how horrible the supporters of administration are.

Thanks for making my point, again. Yes he was arrested after someone said that a bunch of guys were in a gang. But then after being arrested, he was released because he wasn’t in the gang. Or at least there was no evidence of that. That’s awfully important though!

The larger point is, if he was in a gang in 2019, and is not now, what actually is the problem or the danger to anyone?

The even larger point is you’re using words like “might” critically, but if there’s a doubt about something, there’s something called a habeas corpus hearing that can sort out all the doubts. He was denied that.

I can’t imagine dealing with that scenario as a parent. If he’s a gang member, it must not be a very tough gang.
