Excuse me? You seem to have had no earthly idea that minor children were being mutilated in the name of transgenderism, and I gave you real life examples of how they were AND CONTINUE TO BE. And now that you seem to acknowledge that fact, you tell me that there are 'ample' numbers who successfully 'transition' that justify it. Please tell me, what is the exact number that constitutes 'ample' to outweigh one person whose life is completely and unalterably ruined by those who are 'transitioning' minor children? Is it 5 'successful transitions' of children under 18 years old for one ruined life? 10?, 50? 100? Please tell me. I'd really like to know.

I will not deny that there are those who "encourage" (the word from your original post) children to receive gender-affirming treatment. That is wrong, and there should be guardrails to prevent it. But should such be denied unequivocally? No. It would be like saying that because one heart transplant results in a patient's death, all heart transplants should be prohibited.

ear, I REALLY want to count you as a reasoned person. Please get more facts and try and come down on the right, moral side of this. I cannot think of even one reason that would convince me that doing ANYTHING to a child under 18 to artificially and superficially change their sex that would permanently and irreversibly change them is justified under any circumstance.

Do you think that we should allow 12 year olds to buy and consume alcohol? Even if their parents approve of it? Maybe not if only one of them approves, you have to have both, right? Maybe in some states we can have their teachers provide them with whiskey without telling their parents.

Is there a valid reason to have laws against underage drinking, ear? Is there also a valid reason to also have laws that penalize any adults that provide them with such? Why do you think that is? It won't hurt most of the kids and maybe make them happy or less unhappy. If we have a lot of people advocating for kids being able to drink, we might have some that become pre-teen alcoholics. Wouldn't that be something?

Please try and be real on this subject ear. I went through pre-adolescence and puberty a long time ago before any of this transgender crap was a thing. To my knowledge, nobody committed suicide because they were a boy and wanted to be a girl. (or a horse or a cat or furry whatever). In my opinion, this is all a manufactured phenomenon, and even if you think it isn't, it should not be acted upon until the subject at least reaches the age of consent.

I don't think anyone should consume alcohol, but I'm not picketing liquor stores or trying to revive Prohibition. And whatever happened to "parents' rights"?

Gender-affirming treatment should be undertaken only after careful discussion with parents, doctors, and psychologists. It should not be done on a whim. That said, I would support reserving such treatment for those over 18.

It never ceases to amaze me that people like Flock, (1) who have no interest whatsoever in women's sports, are tremendously upset at the prospect of a handful of trans women, most of them not very talented, playing in women's events, and (2) who have no problem with hundreds if not thousands of children being forcibly separated from their parents and/or shipped off to ICE camps and tens of thousands of other children not getting needed vaccines because of egregiously incorrect misinformation being spewed out by our current Secretary of HHS get horribly upset at the prospect of a handful of trans teens undergoing transitioning treatment and/or surgery they later regret.

What I have a problem with is people like SSS

(1) who are incredibly underinformed and continue to spout the misinformation spoonfed to them by the corrupt left and lapdog media that count on them as useful idiots.
(2) who also believe they know the mindset, thoughts and motives of everyone who questions or doesn't believe their chosen narratives.
(3) Who feel they need to punctuate their arrogance by characterizing people who disagree with them as 'nazis', 'racist white supremacists', 'xxx-phobes' etc.

On this and virtually any other subject.

I disagree with ear on this subject, but I appreciate that we can discuss our differences with a bit of respect. It is unfortunate that it has to be interrupted by rants like the above.
