Excuse me? You seem to have had no earthly idea that minor children were being mutilated in the name of transgenderism, and I gave you real life examples of how they were AND CONTINUE TO BE. And now that you seem to acknowledge that fact, you tell me that there are 'ample' numbers who successfully 'transition' that justify it. Please tell me, what is the exact number that constitutes 'ample' to outweigh one person whose life is completely and unalterably ruined by those who are 'transitioning' minor children? Is it 5 'successful transitions' of children under 18 years old for one ruined life? 10?, 50? 100? Please tell me. I'd really like to know.

I will not deny that there are those who "encourage" (the word from your original post) children to receive gender-affirming treatment. That is wrong, and there should be guardrails to prevent it. But should such be denied unequivocally? No. It would be like saying that because one heart transplant results in a patient's death, all heart transplants should be prohibited.

ear, I REALLY want to count you as a reasoned person. Please get more facts and try and come down on the right, moral side of this. I cannot think of even one reason that would convince me that doing ANYTHING to a child under 18 to artificially and superficially change their sex that would permanently and irreversibly change them is justified under any circumstance.

Do you think that we should allow 12 year olds to buy and consume alcohol? Even if their parents approve of it? Maybe not if only one of them approves, you have to have both, right? Maybe in some states we can have their teachers provide them with whiskey without telling their parents.

Is there a valid reason to have laws against underage drinking, ear? Is there also a valid reason to also have laws that penalize any adults that provide them with such? Why do you think that is? It won't hurt most of the kids and maybe make them happy or less unhappy. If we have a lot of people advocating for kids being able to drink, we might have some that become pre-teen alcoholics. Wouldn't that be something?

Please try and be real on this subject ear. I went through pre-adolescence and puberty a long time ago before any of this transgender crap was a thing. To my knowledge, nobody committed suicide because they were a boy and wanted to be a girl. (or a horse or a cat or furry whatever). In my opinion, this is all a manufactured phenomenon, and even if you think it isn't, it should not be acted upon until the subject at least reaches the age of consent.

I don't think anyone should consume alcohol, but I'm not picketing liquor stores or trying to revive Prohibition. And whatever happened to "parents' rights"?

Gender-affirming treatment should be undertaken only after careful discussion with parents, doctors, and psychologists. It should not be done on a whim. That said, I would support reserving such treatment for those over 18.

You don't get to pick and choose which "anomalies" you want to use for any given argument, flock. Imane Khelife is an example of a person who was born female, lived her life as a female, and COULD BECOME PREGNANT. Because she has the rare genetic condition that means she has both an X and a Y chromosome, some people want to reclassify her as male.

He is not a female.

He is an exception, but he has distinct male characteristics, generated by his Y chromosomes, which are obvious to rational people. He has every right to compete as a boxer or in any sport which he desires, but just not against biological women.

We are in the beginning stages of this controversial subject, and the rules have yet to be figured out. But we need to be real, and we need to protect women. Khelif is what I consider a rare exception. That is different from SSS's definition. William (Lia) Thomas and those like him are not rare exceptions and should NEVER be allowed to participate in sports with biological women.

The rules to protect the safety and integrity of women's sports do have to be codified, and it is my opinion that exceptions like Khelif should be ruled out of competition, if just for the safety of the biological women. For women's sports, I believe the qualification should be that the participants all must have XX chromosomes and have any other relevant and provable test points that confirm they are truly, unquestionably female. For female sports, it must be strict. For male sports, any sex or exceptional case can compete subject to the applicable drug testing. That is my opinion, FWIW.

PS: Just for the record, SSS, not that it will ever matter to you.
I have nothing against transgenders. Any adult can pretend to be whatever gender they want, but their sex is fixed at birth, except for rare individuals like Khelif. I am against just 3 things:

1. Doing ANY kind of sex or gender reassignment procedure, be it with drugs, hormones, or surgery, to ANY child under the age of consent. And any counseling or school curriculum on this subject must be with the knowledge and consent of the child's legal guardians.
2. People that are not born with XX chromosomes, have testosterone levels above a certain point, and cannot meet other, to be determined, tests that guarantee that they are female, are NOT allowed to participate in any sporting event that is for females only.
3. Creating any law, workplace rule, or any other restriction that makes it illegal or imposes some kind of penalty to 'misgender' transgender people. Either by not using their preferred pronouns to refer to them or any other made up offense.

Other than that, let the lunacy continue until the fad fizzles out.
