I'm sure if you ask booby he will be glad to make one for you. It can be exactly how you describe. No serious discussion, no problem with spelling errors and a black hole of stupidity. It will be entirely your own. I doubt anyone who you have problems with will go there to bother you.Weyoun wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 12:12 pmIt will take a lot of work. However, we have decades of research toward the incredible safety profile of the MMR vaccine, the polio vaccine, and so on.
What RFK proposes would be unethical. You cannot do a massive double blind trial with half a population being unvaccinated violating all sorts of medical ethical standards, just like you cannot do a double blind trial to see if you need a parachute to jump out of a plane.
More to the point, since we have decades of evidence showing that these vaccines work well without side effects, there’s no reason to get rid of them.
And since the Covid vaccine is essentially optional at this point, I don’t really see what your complaint is about the current vaccination regimen. Unless there’s another pandemic, which is certainly possible with RFK gutting the CDC.
The other thing that amuses me about your Marxist slur is that RFK is proposing all sorts of new regulation of food. I will admit that one thing that intrigues me about him is that he’s interested in our food supply. To be clear, he’s not saying anything that doctors and public health professionals haven’t said either, so the idea that he’s anti-establishment is incorrect. He is probably anti-Monsanto as a better descriptor.
He’s possibly wrong about some stuff, but the ironic thing is that he is certainly proposing much more regulation in this field. For example, telling McDonald’s that they cannot use tallow fat seems awfully big government.
So, you think that government regulation is a good thing. Glad to see we are on the same page!
As for what RFK is GOING to do, we will have to see, won't we? I don't trust any report on what he is GOING to do any more than I trust any report on what Trump is GOING to do. Not from the same people who call him Hitler and say he is going to be a dictator. RFK used to be one of yours. He shares most of your delusions. I would doubt he's going to make very many new regulations, though. Trump doesn't like over-regulation, based on his first term. I don't think he would hesitate in firing RFK if he went overboard. Perhaps, if you want to rely on predictions, you should hire the Prection boys. They are looking for work.

And if we can't use RFK's record to assess him - why is he being nominated? Is it a big coincidence that this anti-vax nut just happened to be nominated for this post, as opposed to Secretary of Commerce?

He was considered for Treasury secretary but there was another candidate (whose name escapes me) who had strong support. Naming Lutnick to Commerce will clear up that deadlock, but whether the other guy gets the nod or someone else remains to be seen.

It is easy for me get away with it, because you never show evidence of an original thought.
Do you see how earendel and mrkelley post complete thoughts, organized by paragraphs? Perhaps if you tried that, I might take your fascist lunacy more seriously as a credible position, and we could have a debate. Predictably, this thread has devolved into the same three twits exchanging insults directed toward me, instead of responding to any concerns about Trump’s terrible appointments.

Back to the subject - Dr Oz to run Medicare.
He veered into alternative medicine years ago, but he’s going to be a disaster because he wants old people to pay more out of pocket - and the government to provide less reimbursement in general - for elder care. That probably will not do wonders for an already cash-strapped medical system, but it will benefit private insurers who stand to profit from a “Medicare Advantage” type approach.

I thought Harris was a terrible candidate. I disagree with quite a few of her positions, but she also doesn’t have the experience and I don’t think she’s a very serious person.
She’s also not a kleptocrat who constantly undermines our democracy and makes everything a giant media circus. She doesn’t appoint her idiot friends to important jobs. She doesn’t cozy up to dictators, compromising our national security.
It doesn’t help that the Republican party has gotten to be so lunatic about other issues, such as denying global warming, failing to pursue any kind of broad-based energy policy, getting so extreme on abortion that IVF is considered potentially illegal, and making zero effort to bring guns under better control. Among multiple other problems. Most concerning, I think the drift of the party is such that they want to completely undermine any role of government in society today, because they have some sort of mistaken sense that anything the government does is inherently theft. That will of course make the rich and powerful, who already have all the resources they need, already even more powerful.
In other words, they want self-inflicted chaos. Sorry, I can’t have that.

I would say it was about a 65-35 split among billionaires, Harris-Trump. Many wrote an open letter saying that they were worried, in short, about economic growth if an insane narcissist took over. I don't blame them. Some, like Musk, have positioned themselves well to make a lot of money - are you comfortable with a billionaire "draining the swamp" if he stands to gain financially from it? It certainly seems like the wealthy backing Trump are more plainly going to immediately and directly benefit from his win, so I can't really support the idea that the rich and powerful aren't about to do very, very well.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 12:48 pmSo why do most of them support and fund the swamp? That will of course make the rich and powerful, who already have all the resources they need, already even more powerful.

Re: Cabinet picks
You have no sense of perspective. Please explain to me how Trump (or Musk) are benefitting financially or are likely to benefit from what they are doing?are you comfortable with a billionaire "draining the swamp" if he stands to gain financially from it?
According to this obviously biased site, Trump lost 700 million during his first term. He probably has lost a lot more of his personal wealth since then. He could have just sat this one out and enjoyed his life. Amazing how both Trump and Musk were heroes of the left and the media until they openly opposed the left. Do you think either of them really need more wealth at the expense of all the shit that's being thrown at them?
Trump was the darling of Hollywood and the left. If he got into politics because of his ego or something, wouldn't he just sit back and pursue non-controversial issues the popular culture of the day wanted him to do? And sit back in the glory, instead of championing issues that a major portion of the (indoctinated) population strongly disagrees with and thus gain the hatred of those who bathe themselves in the guise of being tolerant.
The same with Elon Musk.
My intuition is that they actually believe in the issues they have taken on. And judging from the results of the past election, (which the margin of victory is probably even greater than reported), a large majority of the citizen population believes in those issues, too. Including an increasing percentage of 'people of color'. (Since you are obsessed by race.)
So why don't you just sit back and see what happens for the next 4 years, like we have for the past 4 years. And stop throwing epithets at people you don't know, unless they direct them at you first. And any criticisms you have, base them in facts, not in blind hatred or what you're told by the swamp-controlled media conglomerate. Do some independent research. That means acknowledge and try to understand opposing viewpoints. And once opposing viewpoints are presented to you, retain them in your memory when you further respond. Don't just ignore them.
Just some friendly advice.

Re: Cabinet picks
Trump lost a bunch of money because he’s actually a terrible businessman who makes bad calculations. As I pointed out before, if he just took his dad’s inheritance and placed it in the stock market, he would’ve been three times as wealthy if not more. He’s the guy who bankrupt a casino.
He’s only afloat because goobers like you keep giving him money.
And Musk has tons of government contracts. Of course he would stand the benefit.
How naive you are.

Well, Gaetz has withdrawn. IMO it is the holdover RINOs that did him in.
DeSantis has the option of appointing him Senator.
I am pulling for Harmeet Dhillon now.
