Rules: viewtopic.php?p=40443#40443
Today is the start of Week 2, so the points are going up. Each correct answer is now worth 2 points, with bonus questions worth 10 points.

Below is a list of films that center around or feature U.S. presidents of fact and fiction. For each, name the actor or actress who played the president.
Answers are due by Tuesday at 5 PM Eastern.

Well, it's better than I thought it would be when I saw today's title. I'm embarassed about how many of these movies I haven't seen, but just know people who were in the cast, so I'll take a shot.
My personal fave was Charlton Heston in The President's Lady. Or for fiction, Donald Pleasence in Escape from New York. Not that you asked.
1. “Independence Day” (1996) BILL (damn, Paxton or Pullman I always get them mixed up. The one that wasn't in Frailty.) PULLMAN
2. “Deep Impact” (1998) - MORGAN FREEMAN
3. “Canadian Bacon” (1995) - JOHN CANDY
4. “Bicentennial Man” (1999) - ROBIN WILLIAMS
5. “Mars Attacks!” (1996) - JACK NICHOLSON
6. “Young Mr. Lincoln” (1939) - HENRY FONDA
7. “Annie” (1982) - EDWARD HERRMANN (I love this movie so much I have it on VHS and DVD and the soundtrack on vinyl, cassette and CD.)
8. “Dick” (1999) - MATTHEW BRODERICK

Today is the start of Week 2, so the points are going up. Each correct answer is now worth 2 points, with bonus questions worth 10 points.
Republicans are consistently accusing Democrats of “playing political theater”... so if it’s political theater they want, it’s political theater they will get. Below is a list of films that center around or feature U.S. presidents of fact and fiction. For each, name the actor or actress who played the president.
Answers are due by Tuesday at 5 PM Eastern.

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
